The Client
An outdoor optics brand built on precision and performance
Bushnell is an established American outdoor optics brand, developing precision equipment and performance products for outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, golfers and consumers who rely on clarity, accuracy and dependable technology.
With a heritage rooted in outdoor innovation, Bushnell serves customers with diverse product needs and purchasing journeys.
At the time of the initial project, Bushnell formed part of Vista Outdoor's extensive portfolio of outdoor recreation and sporting goods brands. Following subsequent corporate changes, the brand became part of Revelyst's portfolio.
Supporting ecommerce across this evolving business environment required a flexible, scalable technology foundation capable of accommodating multiple brands, integrating new services and adapting to changing operational requirements.
The Challenge
Managing Ecommerce Complexity While Supporting Business Evolution
Enterprise ecommerce environments rarely remain static. New business requirements, changing organizational structures and evolving customer expectations create ongoing demands on technology platforms.
For Bushnell and the wider Vista Outdoor portfolio, the challenge extended beyond migrating multiple brands to Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
The business needed a consistent multi-brand ecommerce architecture that could support ongoing platform development and changing commerce requirements.
1. Consolidating Multiple Brand Storefronts
Migrating Bushnell and 20 other brands from legacy environments required a coordinated technical approach that accommodated individual brand requirements within a shared Salesforce Commerce Cloud realm.
2. Simplifying Product and Storefront Management
Managing product listing pages (PLPs), storefront configurations and technical issues across multiple brands created a need for more consistent and efficient platform administration.
3. Adapting to Evolving Business Requirements
The transition from Vista Outdoor to Revelyst introduced a changing business context, requiring continued development and integration capabilities to support the evolving brand portfolio.
4. Preparing for a Critical Holiday Trading Period
The wider ecommerce environment needed to support the brand portfolio's launch ahead of the 2024 holiday season, placing importance on coordinated delivery and platform readiness.
The Solution
A Scalable SFCC Foundation with Continuous Platform Innovation
TCTG's work combined enterprise-scale migration expertise with ongoing Salesforce Commerce Cloud development and integration capabilities.
Establishing a Shared Multi-Brand Architecture
TCTG initially migrated and launched 21 Vista Outdoor brands, including Bushnell, onto the Vista Master Realm using Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
A shared Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA) framework provided a consistent technical foundation, helping streamline storefront management and simplify issue resolution across the brand portfolio.
This SFCC multi-brand migration architecture supported a more unified approach to managing multiple ecommerce experiences while accommodating individual brand requirements.
Supporting Ongoing Platform Development
As the wider business evolved, TCTG continued providing technical development and support for the commerce environment.
This work helped the platform adapt to changing requirements and supported the continued development of the brand portfolio's digital commerce capabilities.
Extending Commerce Functionality Through Integration
TCTG integrated third-party technologies to extend the capabilities of the existing SFCC environment.
ID.me – Customer Identity and Verification
Integration with ID.me supported identity verification capabilities, helping enable relevant customer verification experiences within the ecommerce journey.
Adyen – Connected Payment Experiences
Integration with Adyen supported payment capabilities within the commerce ecosystem, contributing to a more connected checkout experience.
Together, these integrations demonstrated how a shared commerce architecture could evolve to accommodate additional functionality without requiring a complete platform replacement.
Supporting the 2024 Holiday Launch
TCTG's continued platform development and integration work supported the launch of Revelyst's brand portfolio ahead of the 2024 holiday shopping season.
The work demonstrated the value of ongoing technical delivery and coordinated development in preparing a complex multi-brand ecommerce environment for a business-critical trading period.
