Tech Lead - Cloud & Microservices

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Tech Lead to drive the design, development, and implementation of modern cloud-native solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, enjoys building scalable systems from the ground up, and can lead both technology and people.

The successful candidate will initially work as an individual contributor while establishing technical direction and best practices. As the project grows, they will be expected to build, mentor, and lead a high performing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable cloud-native applications.
• Design and develop robust microservices-based solutions using modern architectural principles.
• Build and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure, primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Drive technical decisions, ensuring solutions are maintainable, performant, and aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Take ownership of technical delivery from design through implementation and deployment.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
• Mentor and lead engineers, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
• Play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, and developing the future engineering team

Required Skills & Experience

Extensive experience in a Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, or similar senior engineering role.

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud architecture.
• Proven experience designing and building microservices-based applications.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure, cloud-native development, scalability, security, and performance optimisation.
• Strong programming experience in Java, with exposure to multiple programming languages (such as Python, Go, Node.js, C#, or similar).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and engineering best practices
