About the Role

 We are seeking a Functional Business Analyst to bridge business, analytics, and data teams in an eCommerce environment. The role focuses on understanding business processes, defining reporting and insight needs, and ensuring data-driven decisions through BI dashboards and AI-powered analytics.

 You’ll play a key role in transforming raw data into meaningful business insights — working closely with business users, data engineers, and analysts across sales, operations, fulfillment, and marketing functions.

 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Business & Functional Analysis
  • Partner with eCommerce, supply chain, and marketing teams to gather business requirements for analytics, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Document current processes, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate business questions into data-driven requirements for the BI and Data teams.
  • Define KPIs, performance metrics, and success criteria for each business function.
  • Reporting & BI Enablement
  • Work with BI teams (Power BI, Tableau, or Superset) to design clear, actionable dashboards for business users.
  • Validate reports for accuracy and relevance before rollout.
  • Drive adoption of BI dashboards by explaining insights and value to non-technical users.
  • Support stakeholders in using reports for sales tracking, inventory management, and campaign performance.

AI & Insights Collaboration

  • Collaborate with data science and AI teams on use cases like sales forecasting, demand prediction, and anomaly detection.
  • Translate AI-generated insights into business terms and actions (e.g., “stock more of X in South region next week”).
  • Support creation of automated summary insights or GPT-style business reports for management.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the bridge between business, data, and technology teams.
  • Run workshops, requirement sessions, and demos for business teams.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to business leaders.
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and technical deliverables.
  • Process Improvement & Documentation
  • Maintain functional documentation, dashboards catalogue, and KPI glossary.
  • Identify data gaps and work with teams to improve data capture at source systems (like ERP, CRM, OMS).
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and rollout of new dashboards or AI features.

 

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of eCommerce business processes – sales funnel, order lifecycle, returns, fulfilment, and pricing.
  • Proven experience in business requirement gathering and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret data and dashboards to derive business insights.
  • Comfortable using BI tools (basic navigation and visualization understanding).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving approach.
